August 2, 2026We are a group of 6 boaters and we wanted to share the excellent experience and service we received from Pirate Water Taxi. We were visiting the Island Yacht Club and had gone over to the RBC Amphitheater for a show. Unfortunately, we didn’t research our return very well and when we got back to the waterfront, all the water taxis were closed, leaving us stranded. We finally saw a Pirate Taxi returning to their slip and we flagged them down. After explaining our situation, the driver said even though they were “officially” closed for the night, they wouldn’t leave us and agreed to get us back to the Island. Needless to say, we were very happy and pleased with the friendly and helpful people. Stand out service and we’d highly recommend Pirate Water Taxi.

The captains are all so friendly and they are willing to stop and even take a nice picture if you just ask. Highly recommend their service.

Such an easy and convenient alternative to the ferry! Captain Marc was great! He stopped the boat right in front of the most scenic view of the skyline and offered to take pictures of each group on board!! Got back much faster than the ferry, no lines, and now have the cutest pics of our family in front of the skyline!

May 17, 2026Highly recommend taking the pirate taxi for a more fun experience and convenient, anytime pickup to/from the islands. Marc was a fantastic pirate chauffeur and also gave some great tips for which island to visit and areas to check out for views and photos. I took my fiancé and his parents here and we had a great time. Thanks to Marc, even I discovered some new hidden gems in Toronto that I hadn’t seen before. The gentleman at the docking station was also very kind and helpful!

October 4, 2025Smashing IT! 🦜🏴☠️☠️🏴☠️🦜 I often take the Ferry to Hanlan's Point and Ward's Island. This time around I decided to get a little more adventurous and take a Water Taxi across the Lake. And I am so glad that I did! It's such an amazing experience. The wind blowing through your hair, great unobstructed views of the city, you get the feel of the water and the waves! I decided on Pirate Taxi. Easy access at the Harbour Front Location. Excellent, friendly and amazing staff. I just wished the taxi water ride was much longer! Can't wait to book my next ticket with Pirate Taxi!

August 25, 2025It was my first time using a water taxi to go, to and from Hanlan's point and I don't think I can ever go back to using the public ferry again. I arrived on a Saturday late afternoon and paid $13 cash to board. I only had to wait 5 minutes for the boat to arrive and it was just me and another passenger heading to the island. The trip was pleasant and quick. I came back from Hanlan's point after dark and once again there was only me and another passenger returning. Meanwhile a massive long line was forming for the public ferry on the return trip. The staff didn't collect my $13 payment until I exited the boat. I like that we didn't have to wait around for other passengers to fill up the boat. It was so convenient.

All fares are $15 per person, ONE-WAY (Children 2 yrs and under are FREE). Credit and debit card payments will incur a 13% tax charge, when you pay in cash the $15 already include the 13% tax charge.
No, only infants (2 years and under) are free, 3 years and older are paying the same price.
We take Canadian and American currency (But we do not have change in American Dollars and it would be $15 in US Dollars as well). Our payment terminals accept all major credit cards (Visa, Amex, MasterCard), Canadian debit cards as well as ApplePay. You can also purchase tickets through our website and our mobile app, available for both iOS and Android devices.
No. Our prices only include a one way fare to the island. Alternatively, you could use the public ferry which will take you back to the city for free.
If you download our App you can collect points for each ticket purchase to receive a free ticket! You will earn 1 point for each single ride ticket purchase and 2 Points for each two ride ticket purchase. After completing 10 Points you will earn a FREE single ride ticket. This FREE ticket will be updated in your “My Tickets” Section with a description as “(FREE)”.

Yes you can. Your pets can come on the water taxi free of charge.
During business hours we are constantly operating between the island and the city with no fixed schedule. We operate on a first come, first serve basis.
Usually weekdays are less busy than Weekends. During peak operating hours, wait times may be up to 20 min or longer. During all other operating hours, wait times are usually no longer than 10 min. Dock attendants will be on hand to offer approximate wait times to guests.
No. We have fixed drop off locations which are adjacent to the public ferry docks (with the exception of Yacht Clubs)
We are servicing all three ferry docks at Ward’s Island, Center Island, and Hanlan’s Point.
Yes we do, we can take you to QCYC, RCYC, TIM and IYC.
We reserve the right to stop our daily operation based on severe weather conditions like heavy rain, heavy winds, thunderstorms, lightning, etc. In case of doubt please call us to ensure we are operating.
Unfortunately, our water taxis are NOT wheelchair accessible. Please use the public ferry if you require wheelchair accessibility.
On average, a one way trip takes about 5-10 min dock to dock (depending on traffic and weather conditions).
